The European Commission announced the initiation of calls for proposals as part of the 2023-2024 Work Programmes of the Digital Europe Programme, concentrating on advancing digital skills.
Open to businesses, public administrations, and entities across EU Member States, EEA countries, and associated nations, these calls align with the EU’s 2030 Digital Compass, aiming to employ at least 20 million ICT specialists and promote gender balance in the sector.
€42 million will be allocated to projects facilitating the realization of the 2030 target.
A €30 million fund is earmarked for developing and implementing education programs in advanced digital skills for both developers and users of cutting-edge technologies. Additionally, a €2 million coordination and support action will analyze the advanced digital skill requirements in key digital areas and strategic sectors.
To combat the shortage of cybersecurity professionals in the EU, €10 million will be injected into launching the Cybersecurity Skills Academy.
An Information Day, scheduled for December 12th 2023, will provide further insights.
