Livarna Donaj Environmental Project – P4I 2022

LIVARNA DONAJ d.o.o. is a micro-enterprise whose most important activity is die casting, which operates in the field of die casting of aluminium alloys, gravity casting, and machining of castings – parts. The company has more than 40 years of experience in its field of activity and is well-established in the Slovenian and European markets. In addition to the activities already listed, the company also provides specialized consultancy services to clients. This includes tooling, plan checking, measurement, and controlling.

In the framework of the project “Environmental Project of Livarna Donaj d.o.o.” the production process was optimized through the purchase of a new machining center with a rotary table and robot and a HEPA filter extraction unit. The latter actively prevents the dangers of oil mist and ensures a clean workplace, human health, and the environment. The CNC machining center, being the fastest production machine on the market, allows for rapid and precise production of new products from lighter pieces, which means that the company reduces the side waste on the production line. In addition, the machine has low energy consumption and low maintenance costs.

  • The investment follows the company’s business strategy to ensure material and energy-efficient production through:
  • introducing modern technologies in the production processes;
  • developing new technological processes to further reduce rejects and increase reuse rates;
  • optimizing processes to reduce energy consumption;
  • closed production processes to reduce water and material losses, etc.

By reducing waste during production and the use of the new process, the new solution contributes to the circular economy. Livarna Donaj d.o.o. is aware that resources are not infinite and, as we are facing climate challenges that often affect border problem areas the most, it is necessary to move towards an environmentally sustainable, non-toxic, and fully circular economy.
