EU invests in digital transition and cybersecurity

The European Commission has approved the amendment of the Digital Europe work programmes for 2024, allocating a significant €762.7 million to propel digital advancements benefiting citizens, public administrations, and businesses.

The amended main work programme, boasting a budget of nearly €549 million, will prioritize projects deploying digital technologies like data, cloud computing, and advanced digital skills. This includes support for the seamless implementation of Digital Decade multi-country projects and opportunities for European Digital Infrastructure Consortia (EDICs).

The remaining €214 million is earmarked for bolstering cybersecurity efforts to enhance the EU’s collective resilience against cyber threats.

The first calls for the Digital Europe Programme are expected in early 2024, with additional calls in the spring.
